Fishing after the new moon in Murrell’s Inlet comes with its challenges. It causes stronger than normal currents and affects the behavioral habits of the fish. Fishing can change dramatically from day to day; so you have to change strategies while remaining patient for positive results.

We ended up catching and releasing around 30 redfish that varied in size from under to over slot. All fish were caught on artificials! It’s so much fun catching fish on artificial bait where you feel that thump! They were sticking close to the bottom, so it was important to find a way to keep your bait deep in the strong current.

As Spring approaches, we will be entering a transition period where the fish will be moving around a little more. Call to book your trip, today!
